Faculty Salary and Benefits

  1. All salaries are officially established in Reais, paid monthly in Reais, freely convertible to US Dollars at prevailing rate. 
  2. Salaries are subject to Brazilian Income Tax. The top of the current income tax table in Brazil is 27.5% of total salary.
  3. Graded contributes 8% of annual salary to a teacher's severance savings plan, called FGTS - Fundo de Garantia.
  4. After first year of service, Graded contributes 4% of annual salary (if matched by the teacher at required level) to the prescribed teacher's pension fund.
  5. Furnished housing provided including utilities allowance for Foreign Hires.
  6. Medical, dental, and life insurance provided.
  7. Pharmacy Plan (to pay medicines through the payroll).
  8. Air transportation to home of record provided at the completion of contract for Foreign Hires.
  9. Annual home leave round trip airfare provided for Foreign Hires.
  10. Moving allowance provided for Foreign Hires.
  11. Settling-in allowance provided.
  12. Professional Development Funding - BRL 2,500 per year per teacher.
  13. Others:
    1. Full reimbursement for visa procurement expenses for Foreign Hires.
    2. Grocery allowance - BRL 142.00 per month.
    3. Lunch for teacher free of charge on school days in school cafeteria.
    4. Tuition for enrolled children of teachers.
    5. Weekly medical station on campus.
    6. Sick Leave, Maternity Leave, Bereavement Leave/Airfare.
    7. SESC club membership.
    8. Annual Personal Day.
    9. A variety of classes through the GIC (ceramics, Portuguese, photo, etc).
