The Conference

The Model United Nations club at Graded, with more than 70 delegates in the high school alone, is one of Graded’s largest and most dynamic clubs. Members engage in weekly debates, hone their public speaking and negotiation skills, and prepare for both national and international conferences where they represent Graded while tackling pressing global issues. The club also has a middle school branch, providing younger students with the opportunity to begin developing these skills early and fostering a smooth transition into High School MUN. Through this experience, students gain confidence, broaden their worldviews, and develop into collaborative, globally-minded leaders.

Graded’s Crescer Sempre club, in partnership with the Crescer Sempre School in Paraisópolis, was founded in 2022 by two students in São Paulo. The project aims to promote equity by supporting underserved students through tutoring in math and Portuguese, while also raising funds to improve resources at their school. 

Thanks to the commitment of its members, the club has held one-hour lessons every other Friday at Crescer Sempre, fostering academic growth for students who have faced significant gaps in their education due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the support of donors, Crescer Sempre has organized more than five leisure events at Crescer Sempre, including intramurals, Festa Junina celebrations, and cultural field trips, which highlight the collaboration between Graded students and the Paraisópolis community. This organization was chosen to align with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. 

All proceeds from GMUN T-shirt sales will go toward supporting this project.
