Background
Background
Established in 2019 and founded on our belief that learning has no bounds, the Graded Learning Lab is a catalyst for institutional learning at Graded. The Lab houses two distinct yet related divisions. It is home to the school's Teaching and Learning and Analytics, Research, and Innovation departments. As a nexus for professional growth, collaboration, consulting, design thinking, and prototyping, the Graded Learning Lab's overarching objective is to elevate teaching and learning at Graded. Currently, Learning Lab team members are implementing a sustained professional learning experience on Deeper Learning for all Graded faculty.
The Space
The Space
At Graded, we are keenly aware that the physical environment impacts learning. Flexible, open, bright spaces nurture creativity and improve outcomes for students as well as faculty.
Constructed from shipping crates, the Graded Learning Lab's contemporary and flexible space includes professional learning offices, a design thinking prototype lab/meeting space, as well as an outdoor seating area.
Teaching and Learning Department
Teaching and Learning Department
The Teaching and Learning Department supports Graded's mission through curriculum review and implementation, teacher professional learning, and the Graded libraries.
We provide a coherent and robust curriculum that progresses from pre-primary through grade 12. Graded students graduate with the necessary knowledge, skills, concepts, processes, and mind frame to participate as global citizens in the 21st century.
We value and commit to teacher professional learning. Through a combination of workshops, study groups, and coaching, both the Graded Learning Lab and three school divisions provide various on-site training opportunities for faculty and staff. Teachers also collaborate with their divisional administrators to develop and implement professional growth and supervision plans.
