Back by popular demand in the 2023-24 academic year are our College Counseling Parent Coffees! Held in the Student Center between 8:30-9:30 AM on Fridays, these are open forums for parents to engage in dialogue with college counselors. Typically held every other week, these sessions are general, meaning that we do not prescribe any specific topic. Instead, a college counselor will sit with parents who arrive to answer questions and discuss various topics that come up.

Last year, these events were met with great success. While we had about 6 parents on average, some had as many as 30 parents in attendance! The topics discussed ranged from course selection to standardized testing to career programming to college visits to demonstrated interest… and far more!

This programmatic offering is not meant to supplant individual meetings with college counselors, but, particularly for parents of G9 or G10 students, this is a wonderful way to get your questions answered.

As such, we strongly encourage all parents to consider attending these events. Mark them on your calendars! Bring your questions or just sit and listen to others’ questions.

And, as always, we will have coffee!

We hope to see you soon!

As always, see your college counselor with any questions, comments, or concerns!
