About the Graded Learning Lab
Background
Background
Established in 2019, the Graded Learning Lab was founded on the belief that learning has no bounds. It serves as a catalyst for institutional learning by bringing together two complementary divisions: Teaching and Learning and Student Growth and Performance.
As a hub for professional learning, collaboration, consulting, design thinking, and innovation, the Learning Lab’s mission is to elevate teaching and learning across Graded. Currently, the Learning Lab team is leading a sustained professional learning initiative on Deeper Learning for all faculty.
The Space
At Graded, we recognize that the physical environment plays an important role in learning. Flexible, open, and light-filled spaces foster creativity, encourage collaboration, and enhance outcomes for both students and faculty.
Constructed from repurposed shipping containers, the Graded Learning Lab offers a contemporary, flexible environment with professional learning offices, a collaborative meeting space, and an outdoor seating area.
Teaching and Learning Department
Teaching and Learning Department
The Teaching and Learning Department advances Graded’s mission by leading curriculum development and implementation, supporting teacher professional learning, and overseeing the school’s libraries.
We provide a coherent, rigorous curriculum that spans from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. Our goal is to ensure that every Graded graduate develops the knowledge, skills, concepts, processes, and mindsets needed to thrive as a global citizen in the 21st century.
We are committed to continuous professional learning for all educators. Through workshops, study groups, coaching, and other learning experiences, the Graded Learning Lab and the three school divisions provide ongoing, on-site professional development opportunities for faculty and staff. A key component of this work is the continued development of Graded’s six Learning Principles, fostering a shared understanding of high-impact teaching and learning practices across the school community.

Student Growth and Performance Department
The Student Growth and Performance (SG&P) Department is committed to helping every Graded student succeed by fostering a data-informed culture that supports evidence-based decision-making.
We use data to better understand student needs and empower teachers to access, interpret, and apply that data to make informed instructional decisions that improve student learning and outcomes.
The department also oversees educational technology at Graded. We support teachers, students, and families in accessing and using technology effectively, ensuring they have the tools and resources needed to enhance learning and keep pace with educational advancements.
