We are thrilled to announce that in January 2021, Graded received a lead gift of R$7M from Graded grandparent, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Claudio Haddad for the renovation and modernization of our auditorium, Phase VI of the Centennial Campaign Graded Campus Project.

The current auditorium was constructed in 1961, and while it has served us well, it has never been renovated. The Haddad Center for the Performing Arts will enrich campus life for our entire community. This state-of-the-art facility will not only elevate our theatrical productions but also act as a concert hall for the Graded band, orchestra, and choir ensembles. It will be an inspiring space to hold assemblies, lectures, ceremonies, and graduations.

The Haddad Center for the Performing Arts will include:

  • Increased seating capacity (from 466 to 600 people)
  • New mezzanine floor
  • Redesigned stage sightlines
  • State-of-the-art acoustic engineering
  • Multipurpose stage lighting
  • Cutting edge audiovisual technology
  • Central air-conditioning, adhering to new health and safety guidelines

To break ground, we must secure an additional R$4M in donor commitments. If you are interested in learning more about this exciting project, please contact me at tracy.harrison@graded.br

In the meantime, please join us in extending our deepest gratitude and thanks to the Haddad family for this extraordinary gesture of support.
