Vivas Palavras Showcases Creative Writing in Portuguese and Spanish

Now in its 19th year, the annual publication of Vivas Palavras continues to spotlight original student writing in Portuguese A, Spanish A, and Portuguese Advanced Language across all school divisions.

Vivas Palavras invites students to explore a central theme through poetry, short stories, chronicles, and illustrations. The 2025 theme, Estar presente aqui e agora (Being present right here and right now), encouraged writers and illustrators to reflect on mindfulness, awareness, and the richness of the present moment.

To celebrate the launch of the Vivas Palavras 2025 book, students gathered for special assemblies, where they read their published pieces to an audience and participated in a book signing. Each young published author also received a copy of their book to take home.
