The Play Is Over: High School Theater Students Present Original Production

The audience entered the Black Box Theater to find a body on the floor. Moments later, the “victim” sat up, announced he’d been murdered, and hinted that the culprit was one among six suspects—setting the stage for a Clue-inspired murder mystery in which the ghost of the play’s creator tries to figure out “whodunit”.

In The Play Is Over, our high school theater students led a collaborative creative process from start to finish. Working alongside a professional playwright, they brought their ideas together to create an original production. From character development and scene-building to staging and production choices, students paired imagination with academic rigor to explore themes of identity, connection, and the individualities that shape everyday life.

More than a performance, the production was a celebration of student voice, collaboration, and the power of theater.
