Pre-K Students Explore Hot and Cold

Pre-kindergarten students explored the concepts of temperature by investigating thermoses filled with hot, cold, and warm water. Through noticing, talking, and wondering together, our youngest learners practiced the foundational skills they’ll continue to build on as they grow, thinking critically, communicating clearly, and making meaningful connections between ideas.

At Graded, even the simplest experiences spark deep and transferable learning. When children explore differences like hot and cold, they’re not just identifying temperatures. They’re developing the language to describe their world, the vocabulary to express contrasts, and the prior knowledge that prepares them for more complex scientific ideas, such as the distinction between warm-blooded and cold-blooded animals.
