Middle School Delegates Represent Graded at Porto Alegre Model United Nations

A group of middle school students proudly represented Graded at the Porto Alegre Model United Nations, hosted by the Panamerican School of Porto Alegre, where they engaged in thoughtful debate, collaboration, and global problem-solving.

Guided by the conference theme, “Curiosity over Conflict: Justice begins when we dare to ask why,” students explored complex global and ethical issues while practicing diplomacy, public speaking, and critical thinking.

Graded delegates participated in two committees:

  • Junior Human Rights Council, where they discussed the right to education in conflict zones and equal access to medical resources in humanitarian crises and refugee camps.
  • Star Wars: Galactic Peace, where they examined rebuilding galactic governance after the Empire and the role of the Jedi in galactic defense.

Our delegates’ preparation, dedication, and engagement were recognized with several awards.

Beyond committee sessions, students had the opportunity to explore Porto Alegre, including a visit to the historic Cais do Embarcadero, once the city’s main docks, offering a meaningful cultural experience alongside their academic work.
