High School Integrated Science and Grade 3 Students Collaborate on Forensic Science Mystery

A crime has been committed on campus, and we’ve got our top people on it to figure out “who done it”—high school Integrated Science students and grade 3.

Ms. Fiamma Lalji’s grade 11 students recently wrapped up a unit on forensic sciences. For their project-based learning assessment, they invited grade 3 students to join them in solving an intriguing mystery involving missing spoons and books, and even the outline of a body!

Once the budding forensic scientists arrived at the crime scene and were briefed by their older peers, they dispersed to various stations to begin cracking the case. They dusted for fingerprints, created and examined their own prints using a microscope, and analyzed evidence to identify the culprit.

As for “who done it,” that remains a mystery! Hint: it may or may not have been a certain science teacher…
