Graded Students Tackle Global Challenges at Yale MUN and HACIA Summit
Graded students showcased their diplomatic skills on the international stage, participating in two prestigious conferences: Yale Model United Nations (YMUN) in Geneva and the HACIA (Harvard Association for Cultivating Inter-American Democracy) Summit of the Americas in Rio de Janeiro.
High school students traveled to Geneva for the 14th edition of YMUN Europe, engaging in three days of intense debate on global issues. Outside the conference, students immersed themselves in Geneva’s history, visiting landmarks such as the United Nations headquarters, the International Museum of the Reformation, and Saint Peter’s Cathedral.
Meanwhile, in Rio de Janeiro, Graded students joined peers from 40 schools across Latin America at the 30th HACIA Summit of the Americas. For the first time, the summit featured committees in Portuguese, allowing for an even deeper exploration of regional topics. Graded delegates debated in three languages across ten committees, tackling issues such as pension reform in Brazil, climate initiatives, and historical events like the Ragamuffin War (Revolução Farroupilha).
