Grade 4 Writers Showcase Creativity and Growth Through Storytelling

Grade 4 students focused on the key steps of the writing process—prewriting, drafting, revising, and editing—during a writing unit.⁠

While crafting their own stories, students were encouraged to embrace the entire process, reflecting on how their stories evolved and how they improved along the way.⁠

Some of their tales included:⁠

• A child navigating the challenges of Halloween with a toothache.⁠
• A thrilling adventure of getting lost at the zoo and using security cameras to find their way out.⁠
• A journey to the tundra, filled with strange noises and a daring animal rescue mission.⁠
• A young soccer player who learns how to deal with disappointment after not making the team they wanted.⁠

With their stories completed, parents were invited into the classroom for students to share their process with them, from brainstorming ideas to revising drafts.
