Grade 2 Marketplace Brings Economics to Life Through Real-World Learning

Graded's Grade 2 Marketplace transformed classroom learning into a real-world entrepreneurial experience, giving students the opportunity to apply economics concepts while creating products and services for authentic customers.

As the culminating project of their economics unit, students worked collaboratively to design, produce, market, and sell their own goods and services. Throughout the process, they explored concepts such as needs and wants, consumers and producers, and teamwork, while developing communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

This year's Marketplace also emphasized sustainability, with several student businesses incorporating environmentally conscious practices, including repurposing materials and reducing waste during production.

The project concluded with an opportunity to make a meaningful impact beyond campus. Students voted to donate the Marketplace proceeds to Instituto Caramelo, raising more than R$10,000 to support the animal rescue organization.
