Award-Winning Violinist Guido Sant'Anna '23 Returns to Inspire Students

Graded welcomed back alumnus Guido Sant'Anna '23 during a visit to Brazil between international performances. Since graduating, Guido has established himself as an acclaimed professional violinist, performing on stages around the world.

While at Graded, Guido made history by winning first place at the 2022 International Fritz Kreisler Violin Competition in Vienna, becoming the first South American ever to earn the competition's top prize. He later received offers from leading music schools abroad before launching his professional career.

During his visit, Guido met with music students for a Q&A session and violin demonstration, sharing insights into his artistic journey and the dedication required to pursue a career in music. He also spent time with students in the Hitoshi Castro Outreach Program and the Graded Scholar Program, answering questions about overcoming challenges, staying authentic, and pursuing personal goals.

For many students, Guido's return was especially meaningful. As a former Outreach Program participant and Graded Scholar, his journey demonstrated the opportunities that can grow from hard work, perseverance, and a passion for learning.
