How to Apply

To apply to Graded - The American School of São Paulo, please send in the items requested by the division for each applicant. Forms may be filled out online or downloaded off this site and returned to us by fax or courier in any order convenient; an application is activated upon receipt of the Application for Admission form and application fee.

Graded operates with a rolling admissions policy. Applications are accepted for entrance during any time of the school year. The majority of new students (nearly 250 a year) enter during the beginning of our school year in August. Once families know they will be coming to Brazil, they are encouraged to apply immediately -- as several grades are full and do have waiting lists. Some students (usually less than 50) join the school at the beginning of our second semester at the end of January.

School records/transcripts must be legally translated into English.

Students from Brazil and most Latin American countries, who are living abroad, from 5th grade on, are required to have the official school records/transcripts authenticated by the Brazilian Consulate for the region you are living in. If coming from a Brazilian School the student must submit his/her "Historico Escolar".

Students who have received specialized testing are required to submit test results and/or recommendations and specialized support programming that have been implemented (e.g. Individual Education Program). Graded offers some services for students with mild learning difficulties/disabilities and English as a second language; however, students must meet grade level expectations.
