Graded School is a private, co-educational, non-sectarian, nonprofit day school for children ages 2 through 18. Our curriculum is designed for the motivated student who is able to meet the demands of a challenging academic curriculum and who thrives in a stimulating, and diverse environment. English is the language of instruction; an ESL program is available. Graded School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (AdvancedED) and the Brazilian Ministry of Education. The school is also a member of the International Baccalaureate Organization, the Association of American Schools in South America (AASSA), and NAIS.
The school is divided into three divisions:
Lower School, from 2 years old to grade 5
Preprimary half day program K2/K3pm - 8am to 11 or 12 to 3pm
Kindergarten 3 and 4 years old are half day - 8am to 12pm
Kindergarten 5 years old are full day - 8am to 3pm
1st through 5th grade are full day - 8am to 3pm
Middle School, grades 6th-8th
High School, grades 9th-12th
Grades 11th and 12th are International Baccalaureate "IB" Program
Middle and High School programs are essentially college preparatory in nature. Students prepare for a general American High School diploma and have the opportunity to prepare for a Brazilian High School diploma, and/or the International Baccalaureate diploma.
